It’s not uncommon for even the most relaxed person to feel a little uneasy about visiting the dentist. If you’re just a mildly anxious dental patient, or if your dental anxiety is so acute that it prevents you from getting the care that you need and deserve, it’s important to know that options are available to give you comfort. With in-house sedation dentistry, our team can help you relax and enjoy a positive dental experience.
The Advantages of Sedation
Sedation can be used for even routine procedures like fillings, and can help make getting dental work done a more enjoyable experience. The providers at Union Square Dental recommend sedation:
- To more easily complete multiple treatments in one visit
- For patients who suffer from mild to severe dental anxiety
- To help patients relax during more complex procedures
- To achieve the most positive, comfortable dental visit possible
Just imagine being able to comfortably relax while all of your needs are cared for! If you’ve been putting off the treatment that your smile needs, ask our friendly staff if sedation is right for you.
Take A Deep Breath and Relax!
Your concerns are nothing to laugh at, but with the help of nitrous oxide, or “laughing gas”, your worries will just slip away. We administer your sedation by placing a soft nosepiece over your nose and having you breathe normally. Your tension will ease as you experience a tingly, floating sensation. You’ll remain perfectly conscious and aware, but enjoy a nice, warm state of relaxation. Once your dental procedure is completed, we’ll wean you from the nitrous oxide and replace it with 100% oxygen. A few minutes later, you’ll feel like yourself again and should be able to resume normal activities.
